CHECK CAR HISTORY

Audi cars

The German car company was founded in 1909 by the engineer and designer August Horch. The brand name is taken on the basis of the name of the creator, which is translated from German as “listen”. In Latin this word is spelled Audi.

Audi is part of the Volkswagen Group. Automobili Lamborghini is a subsidiary of a car manufacturer that belongs to Audi.

Differences in models begin with a VIN-code. It reflects complete information regarding the market for which they are intended. In total there are two versions – for the American and European markets.

The lineup

The current state of Audi speaks of its gradual development. The company occupies a leading position in the world in the number of cars sold. The management pays attention to all directions, such as crossovers, a representative class, a business class, racing cars and sports compartments. Every year more than a million cars leave the assembly line.

The modern Audi model range is presented by the following cars – A3, A4, RS4, S5, A6, A7, A8, RS5, Q3, Q5, Q7 and others.

On the world market, the Audi A4 Allroad is in high demand, bought by more than 330 thousand people. The second most popular model for 2018 is Q5 – more than 287,000 copies. The top three are A3 and A6. Their sales amounted to about 250,000 cars. The rapid popularity gained Audi A7, which in a short time began to enjoy great demand.

  • in the trunk, under the spare wheel;
  • at the bottom of the windshield on the driver’s side;
  • on the rack;
  • sticker on the trunk lid;
  • under the plastic cover in the engine compartment (with
    passenger side);
  • on a plastic casing of the radiator fan;
  • under the front passenger mat.

The first thing you should pay attention to the lower part of the windshield. In this place most often VIN of modern models is located.

Audi VIN Code Specification

Since the cars of this manufacturer are supplied to the American and European markets, there are differences in the designations of the individual code. American copies necessarily meet all international standards, so 4-6 symbols indicate the features of the model, the type of engine and the parameters of installed passive safety systems. Instead, the European versions reflect three ZZZ symbols, which says nothing.

New Audi cars are produced in only three countries, as indicated by the first 3 WMI symbols:

  • LFV – China;
  • TRU – Hungary;
  • WAU, WAV, WUA – Germany.

Symbols 7-8 are responsible for the model range of a particular car.

The city of production is encrypted in 11 code symbols:

B – Brussels (Belgium)
C – CCM-Tajpeh
D – Barcelona (Spain)

Audi VIN Check

Buying a used car should always be accompanied by checking its complete history. Based on the 17-digit cipher, not only the actual mileage is determined, but also the facts of participation in the accident, the number of owners and even the history of repairs and maintenance. A preliminary check will save the future car owner from many problems associated with the constant repair of the purchased vehicle.
